2022 Annual Report

Our 2022 Annual Report showcases Patronicity’s continued success in helping to build vibrant communities.

The year 2022 joyfully reminded us how much people can create when they come together. As we look back and celebrate this year’s accomplishments, we are grateful for the work you–our partners, project creators, and patrons–have done to make 2022 such a success. Patronicity’s work begins and ends with transforming communities through positive change, connection, and fostering a sense of togetherness. We are so proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. The 2022 Annual Report highlights some of our favorite moments and greatest accomplishments from the year.

Highlighting an incredible milestone, the Patronicity platform reached $55 million in total project funding! Thanks to our generous program partners, passionate project creators, and dedicated patrons, over $55 million has been distributed to placemaking, sustainability, and small business development projects. Patronicity’s “crowdgranting” model brings valuable opportunities for funders to work directly with communities, coming together in innovative ways to boost resilience and connection.

As “crowdgranting” leaders, we recognize our responsibility and opportunity to provide technical assistance, insight, and inspiration to our community. This year, we focused on capacity building and developed a companion website to our crowdfunding platform, Patronicity Resources. Through our very own collection of guides and tools, practitioners have access to articles on how to build a crowdfunding campaign, the basics of placemaking, and hundreds of project ideas that have been implemented across the country.

To further our mission of building vibrant communities, we’ve even adopted a new internal goal setting system. With the addition of more staff, we have set ambitious goals, focused on individual objectives and our team structure. We look to strategically expand our network to build better partnerships and stronger communities.

This year we have been filled with gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate and forge new connections. We often say the “crowd” comes before the “funding” and we have never been more focused on our “crowd”–leaders and changemakers like you who are at the heart of our work. Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to see what we can build together in 2023.
